At Willow Bend Title we strive to support local businesses that help people achieve the "American Dream" of home ownership. We spotlight and interview representatives of these businesses to help our clients and partners become aware of the services they can provide for them.
As a realtor founded title company, we love supporting other realtors who are also taking strides to make the real estate process a more streamlined and positive experience for everyone. So in this edition of our WBT Spotlight, we sat down with Patty Smith, Founder of TGH Designs, a staging company that grew as an expansion of Two Generations Homes. Like our Founders, Patty saw what was lacking in the real estate industry and was inspired to take the initiative to use her realtor expertise to raise the bar and provide better service options for Texas real estate professionals and homeowners.
Q: Tell us a little bit of the backstory of how and why you started TGH Designs?
"TGH stands for Two Generations Homes, we are a family business and have been in the real estate industry for over two decades. My son Parker and I are the licensed realtors on our team and my daughter-in-law Destiny is our staging expert and designer. Our team had done 20 fix and flips and encountered many issues with staging companies in the past. We had always joked about starting a staging company and how fun it would be. One day Destiny enrolled in a staging certification class and many runs to furniture stores later, the rest is history."
Q: Tell us more about the valuable services you provide that positively impact realtors and homebuyers?
"At TGH Designs, we provide a comprehensive range of home staging services designed to benefit both realtors and homebuyers significantly. Our expertise, built over 25 years in the real estate industry, allows us to transform properties into visually stunning and market-ready homes that captivate potential buyers from the moment they walk through the door.
For realtors, our staging services are invaluable. We understand that the presentation of a property can make or break a sale, and our team is dedicated to enhancing the appeal of your listings. By highlighting a home’s best features and creating an inviting atmosphere, we help realtors attract more interested buyers, leading to faster sales and often at higher prices. Our strategic approach to staging ensures that your properties stand out in a competitive market, giving you a distinct advantage.
Homebuyers also benefit greatly from our services. When a home is expertly staged, it allows buyers to envision themselves living in the space, which is a critical factor in their decision-making process. Our designs focus on creating a warm, welcoming environment that resonates with buyers on an emotional level. This not only helps homes sell more quickly but also ensures that buyers are confident in their purchase, knowing they are choosing a well-presented and thoughtfully designed home."
Q: What do you think really sets you apart from other companies in your field?
"Having a team that works in the day to day life as a realtor. We are not just selling to realtors, we are ones as well. We know the struggles that come with the job and how to handle them."
Q: Can you share examples of notable projects or challenges your business has successfully tackled?
"A very important client of ours reached out and needed a large home completely staged within 48 hours. They wanted this done quickly to go live by the weekend and keep their photographer on schedule. We did not have any furniture in inventory at this time, but made it happen. We went out and bought furniture, scheduled our movers, and made the quick turnaround possible for this realtor.
We have had 12 out of our first 20 jobs get offers within the first week, we love making realtors happy with quick sales!!
I am so proud of our team and all the jobs we have completed so far! Who would have thought that two shopaholics, especially for furniture, would love being able to buy furniture on a weekly basis!"
Q: What inspires you as a female business owner? Any advice for other females starting out? Any challenges you have faced and overcome?
"The most important thing is to not let fear get in your way and just go for it! Every successful person in this life, man or woman makes hiccups/mistakes along the way! It is so important to pick yourself up, learn from it and keep going!"
Q: Do you have any exciting projects or company news you would like to share?
"We have a new payment system that will make working with us much easier. You are just one click to pay and your stuff will be on the way!"
